Expertise
Working in many different types of materials and being involved in many schemes over 49 years, we have invaluable expertise on which you can rely.
Corrosion risks from fume or atmospheric attack has to be controlled to meet environmental and health and safety regulations. We can provide the complete design, manufacture and installation service giving you total peace of mind. Additionally, ongoing maintenance and service can be carried out when required.
Some of the areas in which we have worked include, ventilating public swimming baths, fume extraction from laboratories, work bench ventilation and we have been involved with The Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries & Food, Birmingham University, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Coventry Polytechnic, Corin Medical PLC, BAE, Corus, Bodycote, Messier (Aircraft) Services, and various P.C.B. manufacturers.
Fume Scrubber
Our range of fume extract and scrubbing equipment is constructed from PVC, PVC/GRP, Polypropylene or Celmar/GRP dependant upon the chemical and physical requirements of the plant. Ensuring long life and low maintenance under demanding conditions.
All our units conform to current emission limits and can be constructed in a range of shapes and sizes and are incorporated in the extract system prior to the fan unit, operating under negative pressure.
The base section of the scrubber unit forms the re-circulation tank and is fitted with a standard pump and seals to suit the required application. Service connectors include filling, emptying and overflow. Extra connectors are supplied where necessary to suit the type of reagent used and method of replenishment. A typical scrubber unit can run on water only or a washing solution of Caustic Soda.
Contaminated fumes enter the scrubber unit just above the base section and continue on upwards through a packed section of pall rings where they are wetted by a spray system of extremely fine droplets, the fumes then carry on upwards through a second packed section of pall rings before being wetted by a larger droplet mist. The fitting of a mist eliminator prior to the fan unit prevents moisture carry over.
Mist Eliminator
Mist eliminators are used for the removal of moisture from exhaust fumes. We can incorporate these on new projects or as an addition to an existing system. They can be constructed from PVC, Polypropylene, PVC/GRP or Celmar/GRP. The eliminator blades are constructed from Polypropylene and installed at the appropriate centres for efficiency.
Fan Units
These can be Centrifugal or Bifurcated units and constructed from numerous corrosion resistant materials as required. Different set-ups can be used to accommodate motors using single speed, two speed, inverter controlled, anti spark and fire proofed running as direct drive, or star delta start. Additionally, they can be run in 'V' belt form, wired direct on line, star delta or soft start, dependent upon voltage, construction and application.
The cases are manufactured from uPVC, PVC/GRP, Polypropylene and Celmar/GRP with the glass fibre being either general purpose or isothalic.
Impellers are normally manufactured from polypropylene unless used in areas using Chrome where PVC would be recommended. Larger fan units running at high top speeds would require stainless steel or mild steel-coated impellers to attain the required performance.
Our Bifurcated fan units, in addition to the above, can be mounted vertically or horizontally by the use of flanges at either end. Feet can also be attached, together with anti-vibration mountings to position the fan horizontally.
Silencers
To further our commitment to the environment we also take noise pollution seriously. Therefore our range of products can all be fitted with silencers there by allowing 24 hour operation and use within residential areas or areas sensitive to noise levels.
Silencer units can be constructed from PVC, polypropylene, PVC/GRP or Celmar/GRP and fitted with suitable sound proofing material. Our silencer units are usually flanged for easy installation or removal. We can fabricate any shape conceivable as long as the air flow rate is not compromised.
Ductwork
With our fans, fume scrubbers and silencers in place all that a remains is the connecting pipe and duct work. Again we have many years' experience with this type of design, construction and installation work in all materials. Challenge us with your requirements and rest assured that we have the ability to deliver.
